Emergency first aid at work.

One Day (min 6 hours)

An assessment of the work place for First Aid may illustrate the need for Emergency First Aiders rather than First Aiders. Emergency First Aiders are usually required where the risk assessment of the business is classed as low or they can be utilized in addition to your First Aiders. This one day course covers areas of First Aid that allows candidates to deal confidently and effectively with an emergency situation. Upon completion the candidate will be issued with a certificate which will be valid for a three year period as approved by the Health and Safety Executive.

The course consists of both theoretical and practical activities that cover subject areas including:

  • Assessing
  • Choking
  • Control of bleeding
  • Cross infection
  • Head injuries
  • Heart attacks and angina
  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Minor injuries
  • Resuscitation -CPR
  • Seizures
  • Unconscious casualty

The maximum number of candidates that can be accommodated on this course is twelve.
